I looked at him, sleeping in my arms, my heart full of pride and joy. I had no idea that my human heart was capable of such love, such deep overwhelming, protective, proud love. When my daughter was born I had felt the same, and believed I would not be able to love anyone like I love her. But this time, my heart had overdone me; it has split into two equal halves embracing both my children.

‘Rio’ my son, I swear to love you as long as I shall live and even beyond. I promise to hold your hand while you take your first steps, I pledge to support teach and nurture you as your young mind grows. I guarantee to be there for you every time you need me, and also at the times when you don’t need me.

Be kind, be principled, and be respectful towards women, elders and your peers. Be strong and stand up for what you believe is right. I hope, above all you become a good human being. So when I look at you, I can proudly say, yes, that’s my son.

Ishaan Bose welcome to this world, thank you for making our family complete and thank you for teaching me that love is not limited, it can extend beyond our heart and mind.
